Halfway through "There's More to Life Than This," Björk ducks out of her own party: the Debut track (1993) really was part-recorded in the toilets of the Milk Bar, a London club, and the parenthetical on the record admits it — "recorded live at the Milk Bar toilets." She slips off the dancefloor mid-song and sings to herself in the loo about slipping away from her own party. That title is what runs across the back of this shirt in tall broken caps, a small dove stamped beneath it; the front blue-washes a photograph of a very young Björk caught mid-mouthful, tongue out, entirely unposed, under BJÖRK in letters the size of the joke. It's the bootleg big-text format applied to Debut — the album that took her out of the Sugarcubes and made dance music sound handmade — and the design's honesty is in picking the least iconic photo available: not the famous mohair portrait, just a woman eating.
