Flip this one over and you're reading somebody's evidence: the entire back is a page of archaic-looking handwriting β dense scrawled lines dissolving into ink blots, with tiny doodles worked in among them, a sailing ship, a horned figure, little marching men β printed black over a bleached, mottled ground. The front answers the text with the accused: a horned, bearded devil's face blown up to full-torso scale in purple, black and bone white, red spattered across the shoulders, and a small red sigil β horns, twin loops, a cross β set at the collarbone like a pendant. The whole thing is an edge-to-edge, multi-screen all-over print in the grammar of the nineties occult and horror AOPs, the shirts that treated cotton as a canvas for maximum dread. We haven't been able to pin the design to a maker or a source image, which feels almost correct: a devil shirt whose paper trail is a page of handwriting nobody can read anymore.
