Start at the collar: a Screen Stars by Fruit of the Loom tag — the blank that fills 90s band-tee bins — sitting under a Final Fantasy VIII print, which is the right blank for a 1999 game and the kind of pairing you stop expecting from video-game tees. The design is a two-sided collage of the game's actual CG renders: Squall Leonhart's face fills the front, Seifer opposite him with a red slash cutting between them — the rivalry that opens the game with a training duel leaving mirrored scars on both their faces — and the logo plate below; the back regroups them with Rinoa, Squall's eyes just visible over a flame-etched gunblade. FFVIII was Squaresoft betting the PlayStation could carry realistically proportioned people instead of sprites, and these renders were the argument. Period FFVIII shirts surface rarely and get flagged "rare promo" when they do; most of what circulates is modern reprint, which is exactly why you start at the collar.
