Vic Rattlehead — eyes riveted shut, ears capped, mouth clamped: Megadeth's mascot is a walking see-no-evil, hear-no-evil, speak-no-evil — appears here in a dress suit and cap, arms raised, conducting a city's destruction with chrome blades strapped to every finger. A crowd stampedes across the hem, the skyline burns, and the fire climbs off the torso and up both sleeves of the shirt. It plays the conceit of "Symphony of Destruction," the band's biggest 1992 hit, as literally as cotton allows: put a mortal man in control, hand him the baton, watch the city follow him down. There's a nice irony in the timing — 1992 was the year Vic was banished from his own band's album cover, Countdown to Extinction shipping without him — so the merch is where he kept working, and he took the promotion seriously: maestro of the whole apocalypse, full-bleed, no intermission.
