The Details
A small tab at the front hem pairs the fox head with a yellow 02, and the jersey it sits on is sublimated rather than screened ā the graphic is in the fibre, which is why a royal chest fades through a halftone dot gradient into navy without one cracked print anywhere. That is the technical jump this piece records. In 1992 Fox was gel-printing its ImageFX jerseys onto cotton and fighting the heat that came with it; by the time this one was cut the whole industry had moved to dye-sublimated polyester and the graphics stopped being a layer on top of the shirt. The layout is pure race jersey: FOX across the chest with the head in the O, a fox head on each shoulder, the name again down both sleeves in white outline, and FOXRACINGINC. AUTHENTIC/SPORTSWEAR across the back hem. By then the roster had run from Damon Bradshaw through Doug Henry, Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael and Travis Pastrana, and Fox had long stopped being a paddock secret.
