The most forgiving Acid.
The Acid 2020 takes the original Acid outline and softens it—fuller template, softer rails, more user-friendly entry. Where the original Acid rewards committed rail surfing, the 2020 lets you find your lines without as much penalty for being in the wrong spot. Works best with a lively upright single fin, or a pivot template if you want earlier turns and more hold.
How It Rides
Forgiving but not sluggish. The rolled bottom and soft 50/50 rails make it easy to engage and easy to recover from. At 7’6” it has real paddle power for a single fin—catches waves early and trims well through flat sections. A good entry point for surfers moving into single-fin mid-lengths.
The Shaper
Shaped by Robin Kegel. Originally based in California, now in France, Kegel travels between Gato Heroi outposts in Australia, Italy, and Japan. His shapes draw from 1960s–70s surf culture, refined through decades of hands-on testing.
