The Details

The all-over print is the loudest format 90s band merch ever produced, and this is it at full volume: one greyscale photo-collage wrapping front and back, edge to edge, seams and all. Axl Rose in his bandana takes most of the torso, mouth on the mic; a top-hatted guitarist and the rest of the band fill the margins in small tiles; a pistols-and-roses seal sits at the hip, the Appetite for Destruction skull cross drops in tiny near the centre — five skulls, one per original member, Axl's in the middle, from Billy White Jr.'s design — and GUNS N' ROSES runs in rows along the hem like newsprint. The source material is Use Your Illusion-era, the band at its biggest and least governable: 192 shows across 27 countries from 1991 to 1993, one of the longest tours in rock history, a riot in St. Louis among the wreckage. AOPs were expensive to print and made in small numbers, which is why the format collects as its own lane now.
