The Fin
Hobie Alter's Legacy template — a full, heavily raked longboard single fin drawn for glide and time on the nose.
A traditional longboard fin in solid fiberglass with a gloss finish, in smoke, in 10.0" and 10.5". The outline is generous at the base and sweeps a long way back, with a full foil and pronounced rake. That is the classic recipe: a fin that settles a log into trim and keeps it there, steady and predictable, rather than one asking to be turned off the tail. Between the two heights, the taller carries more area and more hold; the shorter gives a little of that back.
How that reads
Rake is what defines this one. Sweeping area back behind the box draws the turn long instead of tight, which is why the template answers to a drop-knee cutback and to weight settled on the tail rather than to a quick pivot. Depth and a full foil supply the hold that keeps the tail down while you walk forward. What it will not do is break loose off the top or turn inside its own length.
Who it suits
Traditional longboards surfed for trim, tip time and long arcing turns — noseriding first, cutbacks drawn out rather than snapped, and the whole thing about glide. A board being surfed hard off the tail in the pocket wants an upright pivot outline instead; this one trades that for rake.

Our take
Put it on a traditional log when glide and tip time are the priority: it delivers a reliable, locked-in feel with long arcing or drop-knee turns rather than snappy ones. If you want to surf the board rail to rail and turn off the tail, look elsewhere — the Heritage pivots tighter and the Hobie Classic turns more crisply.
