6’6” Lifter by Jive Surfcraft. The shorter version of Jacob Ells’ performance mid-length—same design DNA, tighter package. Wide point set back, winged thumb tail, flat rocker for speed.
Design Details
Same bottom contour progression as the 7’0”: single concave entry flowing into a triplane hull, finishing with three tight channels through the tail. Sharp, thin rails throughout. The shorter length makes it more responsive in the pocket while the flat rocker and channels maintain the speed the Lifter is known for.
How It Rides
A lively mid-length that surfs shorter than it measures. Plenty of flow and trim from the center, responsive turns off the tail. At 6’6” it fits into tighter sections than the 7’0” while keeping the paddle power of a wider outline.
The Shaper
Hand-shaped by Jacob Ells in Ojai, California. Ells came to surfboard shaping from snowboarding and laser engineering—a background he considers a creative advantage. His boards are known for avant-garde outlines, intricate airbrushed symmetry, and unconventional foam distributions. Every Jive board gets hand-laminated fiberglass and a sanded gloss finish.
