The yellow tracksuit is a citation: Uma Thurman's Bride wears Bruce Lee's outfit from Game of Death, the film Lee left unfinished at his death in 1973, and Tarantino dressed his revenge epic in it the way this shirt's whole genre dresses in borrowed decades. The front has the Bride with the sword up, red spray behind her, KILL BILL in red block letters; the back sets a drawn katana beside the veiled bride of the wedding-chapel massacre, with γγ«γγ« β "Kill Bill" β running down the side in katakana, the Japanese-market treatment bootleg printers love. Honest print: Kill Bill Vol. 1 came out in 2003, after the vintage movie-tee era this design visually apes, so shirts like this are latter-day tributes rather than '90s survivors. The film credits the Bride's creation to "Q&U" β Thurman and Tarantino invented her on the Pulp Fiction set β and it split into two volumes when the cut ran past three hours. The revenge came in chapters; so does the merch.
