Todd McFarlane drew children playing follow-the-leader off a cliff for Korn in 1998, and the image did double duty: it's the Follow the Leader cover — pencilled by fellow Spawn artist Greg Capullo, colored by Brian Haberlin — and it opens the "Freak on a Leash" video, where McFarlane animated the same doomed kids off the same ledge. This design reprints that cover for the album's 25th anniversary, which dates the print itself: FOLLOW THE LEADER 25 YEARS under the logo, and the back carries the tracklist split into four vinyl sides, the reissue-era treatment for a record everyone originally owned on CD. The anniversary is worth commemorating — Follow the Leader debuted at number one and dragged nu-metal onto pop radio, "Freak on a Leash" and "Got the Life" doing the pulling. A comic-book legend painting the cover and animating the video was exactly the multimedia excess the moment demanded.
