The Details
The tracklist on the back gives this design away: fifteen songs, ending in "Lost" and "Fighting Myself" — two tracks nobody heard until 2023, when Linkin Park pulled them off the Meteora session tapes for the album's twentieth-anniversary edition. So the artwork is 2003 but the print is Meteora|20-era. The front is the album cover: a graffiti writer crouched on scaffolding, respirator on, mid-piece. The man in the photograph is Boris Tellegen — the Dutch artist Delta — shot by James R. Minchin III while painting the mural the band first planned to run as the cover, before Mike Shinoda, who directed the art alongside the graffiti artist Flem, chose the photo of Tellegen at work instead. The anniversary earned its merch: "Lost" arrived as a new single carrying Chester Bennington's voice years after his death and became a genuine hit, a 2003 vocal charting in 2023 — which is exactly the kind of time-slip this tracklist performs.
