The Fin
A high-area flex single fin with extra rake, drawn by Ryan Lovelace as his mid-length fin, in solid fiberglass.
Ryan Lovelace drew the v.Bowls as his mid-length companion: a wide base, ample rake and a full tip, stiffer than the average flex fin. It comes in two sizes, 7.75" and 8.5", in solid fiberglass, in kelp, smoke and clear. The stiffness is the point. It is what turns a heavy back foot into drive rather than into a fin that folds under load, and it is what makes the release out of a bottom turn snap rather than smear.
How that reads
High area and ample rake give a long turning arc: the fin holds through a drawn-out carve and keeps driving down the line rather than pivoting under the front foot. The full tip is what stops it letting go early, so hold stays stable at speed and in waves with some push behind them. Load it hard out of a bottom turn and the taut flex returns the energy instead of washing it away.
Who it suits
Mid-lengths and speed shapes with a longboard box, ridden by someone who drives off the back foot in waves with real push. Riders who want trim, small adjustments in the pocket and long, drawn-out turns out of one fin. The same template is also sold in Volan.

Pick the v.Bowls for a mid-length you intend to surf hard, with drive and long arcs the goal; it comes alive when you stomp it and rewards a heavy back foot, but keep your weight forward enough to keep it from bogging. If you want a lighter, more forgiving version go ThickLizzy; for looser pivot off the tail, the McCallum Single.
