The Fin
Mick Mackie's single fin series: a wide base for drive, in two sizes that trade tip area for release, for mid-lengths, speed shapes and longboards.
The Smooth Glide is a series rather than one template. Both sizes have a wide base, but the 9.375" runs quickly into a narrow tip while the 8.375" holds more area through the centre and the tip. Solid fiberglass, longboard box, in clear and yellow. Mackie drew it for surfers who want a single fin with plenty of drive under them and still expect to put the board on rail hard and change direction in the pocket.
How that reads
The wide base is where the drive comes from: push on it and the board goes forward rather than sideways. The 9.375", narrowing quickly into the tip, lets the back of the fin release, so a cutback comes round tight. The 8.375", holding area through the centre and tip, keeps its grip longer and asks for a slightly longer arc. Both stay settled enough to trim.
Who it suits
Longer mid-lengths, speed shapes and a range of longboards. Take the 9.375" for more fin under a bigger board with quicker release out of the tip, and the 8.375" if you want the extra hold through the tip on a shorter or looser board.

Pick the Smooth Glide for a longer mid-length, speed shape, or longboard single when you want drive that still pivots — the 9.375 for drawn-out lines, the 8.375 when you want the drive carried higher into the tip for tighter response. If you want more aggressive long-arc drive, go v.Bowls; for classic soft-wave feel, the 4A.
