A newsmagazine that doesn't exist, printed on cotton: "Killers" in a Newsweek-style masthead, Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis in prison blues holding booking placards β M. KNOX, BATONGAVILLE, the film's prison β over the coverline "America examines its values in the aftermath of the M&M murders." That is the whole movie in one image: in Natural Born Killers the press turns a killing spree into circulation gold, and this 1994 design does the media's job for it, deadpan. The collar holds a Giant/Tee Jays tag β the label under a huge share of the era's licensed movie and band merch β and the Blood Lust print is a fixture of the vintage record: dealer Justin Reed listed an XL at $1,200 (since sold out), and even a rebuilt example, the graphic transplanted onto donor cotton, was offered at $250. Satire this good was always going to end up collectible. The film predicted that too.
