Read the fine print first: © JUNKSPACE2023, tucked under the script on the front. This one dates itself — a current bootleg-house design, not a 90s survivor — and what it does is deliberate: it hands the Gallaghers the grammar of the 90s rap tee, Union Jack block letters, airbrushed twin portraits, a title in signature script — the treatment street printers built for Tupac and Biggie. The song can carry it. "Cigarettes & Alcohol," fourth and last single off Definitely Maybe, released October 10, 1994 — the date printed under the record on the back — with a sleeve Michael Spencer Jones shot at London's Halcyon Hotel, the band staging a rock'n'roll hotel-room scene that by the photographer's own account required very little acting. The back of this shirt spins that scene on a full-back vinyl disc, red script across the run-out. Bootleg-homage Oasis is a busy market of its own now; this entry is at least honest about its birthday, in type you have to squint for.
