Before Mark Ryden was lowbrow art's biggest name, he painted the Red Hot Chili Peppers a cover: the red-haired girl at the keys, the banjo fairy, the swirling stars of One Hot Minute β an album that, by Ryden's own telling, was nearly called Black Fish Ferris Wheel. The September 1995 record is the band's odd one out, the only album Dave Navarro made with them, and it still went to No. 4 and sold past two million while being reviewed like a funeral. This longsleeve is the touring artifact of that strange year: Ryden's painting across the chest, THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS WORLD TOUR 1995 on a banner over the back, lettering stacked down the sleeve, and a Giant tag at the collar β the merch maker the Defunkd authentication threads expect on an original of this run. WyCo Vintage handles the '95 world-tour longsleeve as its own listing now. The tour shirts outlived the tour's reputation, which is the correct order.
