A pair on FCS bases in Hexcore, 5.37" deep on a 5.25" base, 19.57 square inches a side, in blue, smoke, clear and red. Stüssy drew the Roots Twin as a general-purpose template rather than one aimed at a particular board or a particular kind of wave. It runs a touch smaller than the True Ames twin, and it was drawn to work alongside the Hitch Hiker trailer fin for boards with a box behind the twins.
Slightly less area than the True Ames twin takes a little hold out of the tail, which is what keeps the set balanced rather than driving: the board comes round without having to be forced, and it is not locked into a long arc. Put the Hitch Hiker in behind it and the tail firms up, closer to a 2+1 — more hold off the bottom, less slide out of the top.
Twin fin boards of most kinds, from fishes to modern twins, and surfers who want one set that covers a range of surf rather than one wave. The twins and the trailer are also sold together as the S Double Combo, if the board has the centre box for it.
