A 3.25" side bite pair in hexcore, Futures-compatible β the small outside fins that turn a single-fin board into a 2+1.
Side bites convert a single-fin board into a 2+1: the centre fin still does the steering, and the two small fins add hold through a turn and drive off the bottom. The trade is some of the loose, pivoty feel a single fin has on its own, which is why size is the real decision.
At 3.25" these are the least intrusive of the three. They add bite without taking much of a log's looseness away β the size to run if you want a hint of hold and nothing more.
Hexcore construction is lighter than solid glass and flexes more, which reads as a livelier, springier fin.

Sized to add hold on rail while leaving the center fin in charge β it engages when the board is on rail and stays out of the way through trim, so most of the single-fin feel survives.
Run these on a Futures-boxed mid-length 2+1 with a 6.5 to 7.5 inch center fin when you want added hold on steep drops without losing single-fin glide. On a full longboard 2+1, step up to the 3.7 β and drop your center fin size when you add these.
The True Ames Side Bite 3.25 is a 3.25"-tall side bite pair in light, stiff Hexcore construction with Futures-compatible bases. It is designed for 2+1 setups on mid-lengths in roughly the 7'0" to 8'0" range, paired with a 6.5" to 7.5" center fin. The same template is also offered in solid fiberglass and in an FCS version, and a larger 3.7" size exists for full longboard 2+1 setups.
