The Fin

The 3.3" Trailer is the bigger of True Ames' centre trailers — a 50/50 foil drawn to add hold rather than take it away.

3.30" deep on a 3.28" base, 8.35 square inches, solid fiberglass with a raw sanded finish, in smoke. It goes in the rear box and it goes both ways: behind a twin when the tail lets go earlier than you want it to, or into a thruster's rear box in place of the standard trailer when you want a smaller fin back there.

How that reads

A 50/50 foil is symmetrical, which is what a centre fin wants — it behaves the same on both tacks and adds drive without trying to steer. At 3.3" there is enough area to be felt. Behind a twin that reads as stability and hold; in a thruster it is still less fin than the standard trailer, so the arc shortens without the tail going vague. The template is drawn for drive and reliability rather than release.

Who it suits

Twins with a rear box ridden in surf with some push, and thrusters you want a smaller trailer in. If the fin is going in a quad's fifth box, or the point is to free the tail up, the 2.5" Trailer is the smaller, thinner one.
