How that reads
An upright fin pivots where a raked one arcs. Standing the template up and cutting the area back shortens the turning radius and makes the tail easy to swing, which is what you want when the wave is small and the pocket is short; what you give up is the hold and the long drawn-out drive a bigger, raked twin gives you in a steep face.
Who it suits
Fish, eggs and performance twins on FCS boxes, ridden in smaller, weaker surf where a full-size twin feels like too much fin. Surfers who want a skatey, playful feel rather than a locked-in one.

Our take
Put this set on a glider, fish, or mid-length twin when the goal is pure trim speed and long, flowing lines; it rewards a surfer who makes speed by drawing lines, not pumping. If you want a twin that accelerates and turns hard off the tail, the Alex Lopez Diamond Twin is the opposite character.
