The Fin
The Channel Islands Finger Fin is a narrow centre fin — depth kept, area taken out — and the fin True Ames pair with the Channel Islands twin to make a twin-finner.
3.70" deep on a 3.37" base for only 9.06 square inches, solid fiberglass, FCS compatible, in smoke. The outline is where the name comes from: it keeps most of the depth of a normal centre fin but takes the body out of it, so it holds the back of the board together while dragging very little through the water.
How that reads
Depth is where hold comes from and area is where drag comes from, so a tall, narrow centre fin gives the tail something to grip with at almost no cost in speed. Behind twins or keels that shows up as a board that stops sliding through a turn without losing the twin's release; in a thruster's centre box it does the opposite job, freeing the board up and shortening the arc because there is less fin between the rails.
Who it suits
Boards you are still experimenting with — twins with a centre box, five-fin setups where the centre is the last thing to settle, and thrusters you want looser without changing the side fins.
If this is not the one
