CI Channel Islands Mid: 2+1 Combo

The CI Mid 2+1 Combo is a three-fin set — one 6.5" centre fin and a pair of side bites — drawn by True Ames with Channel Islands and Devon Howard for mid-lengths.

Sold as a matched set in solid fiberglass, FCS compatible, in clear. The centre fin comes in one size, 6.5"; the side bites in two. The 6.5" with the 4.0" sides is the standard pairing, and the 3.6" is the set to take if you are lighter or if you want the tail looser than the standard combination gives you.

How that reads

A 2+1 leaves the steering to the centre fin and asks the two small side fins for hold through a turn and drive off the bottom. This set was balanced rather than pushed in any one direction — stable and forgiving first, but with enough side fin that speed and a committed rail line are still available. Dropping to the 3.6" sides takes area out of the tail, which is where the extra release comes from.
