True Ames' own quad — the neutral in-house set the signature templates are all variations on.

Four fins from the in-house collection: medium body, medium rake, nothing pushed in any direction. The fronts are 4.46" deep on a 4.40" base with a flat inside foil; the rears are 3.77" on a 3.77" base with an 80/20 foil. Solid fiberglass, FCS or Futures compatible — choose at checkout, in smoke, white, purple or smoke clear.

How that reads

Medium rake and medium area is the setting that does everything reasonably and nothing extremely — speed down the line, arcing turns, and changes of direction that happen when you ask for them rather than a beat later. The solid glass gives it a firm feel underfoot, and True Ames put its range at chest-high to overhead, which is where there is enough push to load four fins up.

Who it suits

Any board with four plugs where you do not already know what you want from the set, and the reference point to judge the signature quads against. Riders who want something more particular — more drive, more release, more hold — should go to a designer template instead.
