6’8” channel bottom diamond tail by Tyler Warren. Thruster fin setup.
The longest of Tyler’s channel bottom diamond tail series—same design DNA as the 6’6” and 6’7”. A step-up inspired by flat-deck shortboards before they got chippy, with modern rails and bottoms for ease of ride. Subtle beak nose. Just enough rocker for a fluid ride and lots of drive.
How the Channels Work
Deep channels running through the tail compress water through the rocker curve, generating speed and hold. The extra length at 6’8” gives this version more paddle power and glide between sections while keeping the channel-driven acceleration when you push through the tail. The thruster setup adds pivot and hold for tighter pocket surfing compared to the quad version.
The Shaper
Hand-shaped by Tyler Warren in Dana Point, California. Warren shaped his first board at 14, mentored by Hobie legend Terry Martin, and has since worked alongside Chris Christenson, Josh Hall, Robin Kegel, and Malcolm Campbell. He made the cover of Surfer Magazine riding a self-shaped single fin at Desert Point. Every Tyler Warren board is shaped by Tyler himself—one guy, one shaping bay, behind his house in Dana Point.
