AARRRRGGGGHHH!! β the back of this shirt is one full-torso comic-book scream, Venom seen from behind, tongue dripping, and the front answers it with the lunge: VENOM in symbiote-tendril lettering over the character bursting forward, jaws wide, claws gripping the edges of the print like panel borders. This is the grammar of the early-90s Marvel mega prints, the all-over series that has become one of the most chased lanes in vintage comic tees β a 1993 Spider-Man vs. Venom vs. Carnage mega print is listed at $9,784, and a 90s Venom mega print has been listed at $495 on eBay. The character earned the treatment: introduced in Amazing Spider-Man #300 in 1988, Todd McFarlane and David Michelinie's inversion of Spider-Man β the black suit that came back wearing a grudge β became Marvel's most bankable monster inside five years. The design circulates in later printings too, which is exactly why the collecting attaches to the art, not the cotton.
Black short sleeve cotton tee with Venom graphic.
