Operation Desert Storm opened with five weeks of aerial bombardment beginning 17 January 1991 and closed after a ground advance of exactly one hundred hours in late February — a campaign short enough that the souvenirs outlasted it by decades. It was also the first war carried live, principally by CNN, and the daily gun-camera footage earned it the nickname the Video Game War. The American T-shirt trade answered the way it always answers, in days, and what came out is effectively a genre: bald eagle, flag colours, fighter jet, a pilot in a tan flight suit with his mask still clipped on, lightning behind all of it, drawn in the airbrushed idiom of a county-fair van mural. This one sets DESERT STORM in glitter-blue above the scene and USA in stars and stripes below. The neck tag reads SCREEN STARS, size L, a common American printing blank of the period. What the category records is how quickly a war can be put onto cotton.
Vintage Operation Desert Storm t-shirt with fighter jet, pilot, and bald eagle graphics. Text reads "DESERT STORM" with red stars and "USA" at bottom. Classic Gulf War era memorabilia.
