Warner Bros. released Natural Born Killers on 26 August 1994: Oliver Stone's satire of the tabloid-news business, built from a Quentin Tarantino story he rewrote past recognition and cut roughly 3,000 times β film stock switching to black and white to animation to mock television inside two hours. Stone made it while the Simpson, Menendez and Rodney King coverage was running the country's attention span. So a print built on the grammar of the 90s bootleg rap tee is the right container for it: a photo collage of Mickey and Mallory (Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis) against orange, the title stacked down the left in white and yellow with a drop shadow, a coiled snake, the line YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!, and along the bottom three television sets, each playing a still. A film about television, printed with the televisions left in. The back runs a second frame of the pair under the title in yellow. No neck tag or copyright line is legible in the photographs, so the print is what dates the design, not the cotton.
