Side bites turn a single-fin board into a 2+1: the centre fin still does the steering, and the two small fins add hold through a turn and drive off the bottom. Fitzgerald’s 3.66" is the middle of his three sizes — enough side fin to be felt on a classic single-fin log or mid-length, without committing the board to a thruster feel. It is the size he pairs with his 6.75" single.
