このフィンについて
2.60" のサイドバイトで、フォイルの断面が通常より薄い一本。シングルフィンのボードに足して、なお効果を感じられる最小限のフィンと言えます。
サイドバイトを付けると、シングルフィンのボードが 2+1 になります。舵を取るのは引き続きセンターフィンで、小さな二本のフィンがターン中のホールドとボトムからのドライブを加えます。これはその考え方の小さい側にあたり、深さ 2.60"、ベース 2.25"、片側 4.51 sq in で、内側がフラットなフォイルを通常より薄く削っているため、この二本がスピードを損なうことはほとんどありません。ソリッドファイバーグラス製、二本セットでの販売です。
どう感じられるか
これほど浅いフィンは、ボードの回り方を変えるのではなく、抜けるまでどれだけ粘るかを変えます。ダウン・ザ・ラインでの安定が少し増し、ボトムターンからの押しが少し強くなる一方、弧を描くのは引き続きセンターフィンです。断面が薄いため抵抗は小さいままで、True Ames はグリップのためではなく、抵抗を減らしてスピードを出すためにこの形に削っています。
どんな方に向くか
サイドのプラグが二つあるものの、たいてい空いたままのログやミッドレングス、あるいは大きめのサイドバイトを試して、ボードのグライドが削がれたと感じた方に。ベースにご注意ください。これは 3/4" の Futures 用サイドバイトのタブで、リアのクアッド用プラグには入りません。

True Ames bites run an ultra-thin foil for less drag and more speed, but the differences between side bite setups tend to be subtle differences on different waves or days to experiment with rather than night and day.
Sidebites are usually pushed forward in hollower waves.
Our take
If you ride a single-fin log or mid-length and only want a hint of extra hold for steeper drops, this is the most conservative way to get it -- the glide stays intact. Don't expect drive through carves; if you want side bites that actually push you through turns, go bigger.
このフィンについて
The 2.6" Side Bites are the smallest side bite template True Ames makes, in solid fiberglass with a Futures-compatible base, sold as a pair. The fins use a flat foil, narrow base, and ultra-thin section. They are designed to run alongside a center fin in a 2+1 setup on longboards and mid-lengths. The same template is also offered in an FCS-compatible single-tab version.
