Bonzer の構想は 1970年にさかのぼります。Malcolm と Duncan Campbell の兄弟が、当時のシングルフィンやツインフィンのデザインが抱えていた制約なしに、サイズのある波でショートボードに乗りたいという思いを形にしたのが始まりです。父親からの着想も得ながら、Campbell 兄弟は最初の規格化されたトライフィンのサーフボードを生み出しました。Bonzer 3 です。その後 1982年には5フィンの Bonzer が誕生し、デザインと性能の可能性において再び大きな転換をもたらしました。
私たちのルーツは Campbell 兄弟と深く結びついています。True Ames のショップが動き出したばかりの頃からの顧客であり、いまも共に歩めていることをありがたく思っています。当時から誰もが確実に進化してきましたが、Campbell 兄弟のフィンとボトムの設計体系は数十年を経てなお生き続け、現代のサーフボードの考え方と互角に渡り合っています。

The Campbells shaped this fin around the runners, not against them: the center fin and the canted runners share the load, so the board drives like a single fin with far more push behind it.
On a Bonzer-bottom board this is the engine of the system: planted, line-holding glide with far more push than a plain single fin, rewarding riders who set a line and run it. But it only makes sense paired with Bonzer runners on a Bonzer bottom — if your board is not a Bonzer, this fin has nothing to organize and a standard single or tri will serve you better.

The True Ames Bonzer center fin was designed by Malcolm and Duncan Campbell and is made in solid fiberglass. It comes in four sizes — 6.0", 6.5", 6.75", and 7.0" — all with a full base and mellow rake. It is built to run as the center fin of a Bonzer setup alongside Bonzer runners on a Bonzer-bottom board. Sizing scales with the board: 6.0" for shorter Bonzers, up toward 7.0" as length and volume climb.
