シェイプの導師と呼ぶべき Wayne Rich が設計したこのサイドバイトは、自身の「Power Tilt」センターフィンを補うために作られました。とはいえ、実に多くのセンターフィンときわめてよく合います。標準のサイドバイトよりやや直立で、ティップの面積をわずかに抑え、後縁にリリーフを設けています。精度の高いターンと、一段上の性能を狙った設計です。センターフィンにこのサイドバイトを加えることで、安定が増し、リフトと推進も加わります。3.4" の WR サイドバイトは、小柄なライダー、小さめのボードのセッティング、あるいはもう少し控えめに加えたい方に適しています。4.0" のサイズは、平均的から大柄なライダー、大きめのボードのセッティング、あるいはよりはっきりとした粘りとドライブを求める方に理想的です。

They run slightly more upright than a standard side bite, with a thinner tip and relief through the trailing edge, which is what makes them turn with precision rather than just adding drag.
Run these with a dropped-down center fin, ideally the Power Tilt they were designed around, on a performance longboard or mid-length when you are a bigger rider or surfing bigger waves and want maximum rail hold. For a looser feel or a smaller board, the 3.4 inch version is the move.

These are Wayne Rich's 4.0 inch side bites, sold as an FCS-compatible pair in solid fiberglass by True Ames. The template runs slightly more upright than a standard side bite, with a thinner tip and relief through the trailing edge. They were designed to complement Rich's Power Tilt center fin but pair with most center fins in a 2+1 setup, and a smaller 3.4 inch version is also made. The 4.0 size is aimed at larger riders, bigger boards, and bigger waves.
