The Fin
A 2.60" side bite with an unusually thin foil section — about the least fin you can add to a single-fin board and still feel it.
Side bites turn a single-fin board into a 2+1: the centre fin still does the steering, and the two small fins add hold through a turn and drive off the bottom. This is the small end of that idea: 2.60" deep on a 2.25" base, 4.51 sq in a side, with a flat inside foil cut thinner than usual so the pair costs almost nothing in speed. Solid fiberglass, sold as a set of two.
How that reads
A fin this shallow does not change how the board turns; it changes how long the board holds before it lets go. Expect a little more stability down the line and a little more push out of a bottom turn, with the centre fin still setting the arc. The thin section is why the drag stays low — True Ames cut it for less drag and more speed rather than for grip.
Who it suits
A log or mid-length with two side plugs that mostly sit empty, or a rider who has tried bigger side bites and found they took the glide out of the board. Note the base: this is a 3/4" Futures side bite tab and does not fit a rear quad plug.

What people say
True Ames bites run an ultra-thin foil for less drag and more speed, but the differences between side bite setups tend to be subtle differences on different waves or days to experiment with rather than night and day.
Sidebites are usually pushed forward in hollower waves.
Our take
If you ride a single-fin log or mid-length and only want a hint of extra hold for steeper drops, this is the most conservative way to get it -- the glide stays intact. Don't expect drive through carves; if you want side bites that actually push you through turns, go bigger.
More About This Fin
The 2.6" Side Bites are the smallest side bite template True Ames makes, in solid fiberglass with a Futures-compatible base, sold as a pair. The fins use a flat foil, narrow base, and ultra-thin section. They are designed to run alongside a center fin in a 2+1 setup on longboards and mid-lengths. The same template is also offered in an FCS-compatible single-tab version.
